Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Welcome to The Bronx Community Events Bulletin Board at events.thebronx.vote. This Privacy Policy explains how Logistics ORM & Marketing & Logistics Consulting Services ("we," "us," or "our"), with Marcelo Lopez as the website's creator, collects, uses, and protects information when you use this website.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: Usernames, display names, email addresses, securely hashed passwords, account roles, and account activity for members and administrators. You can browse public events without an account.
- Event submissions: Event titles, descriptions, dates, locations, flyers, organizer names, contact details, and RSVP links or email addresses that members submit.
- RSVP information: Your name, email address, optional phone number and note, attendance count, and selected event when you use the board's RSVP form. We also record the submitting IP address to help prevent abuse.
- Email updates: Your email address and signup date when you sign up for email updates. Signing up is optional.
- Usage and security data: Information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, pages visited, login attempts, and administrative activity, collected through server logs, cookies, and analytics technologies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use this information to publish and manage community events, maintain member accounts, moderate submissions, process RSVPs, respond to inquiries, protect the website against abuse, and understand and improve website performance. If you sign up for email updates, we may use your email address to send updates about the board and community events. Submitting an RSVP does not sign you up for email updates.
3. Public Information and Sharing
Approved event details, flyers, locations, organizer contacts, and registration links are public. If an event has no separate host name, the submitter's display name may appear as its host. Public event details may also appear in calendar downloads and the board's Google Calendar. Only submit content and contact information you have permission to publish.
When you RSVP through this website, your name, email address, optional phone number and note, and attendance count are sent to the event contact identified on the RSVP form. RSVP details are stored for processing and delivery; they are not displayed on the public board. The organizer is responsible for its own handling of the information it receives. External RSVP pages collect information under their own policies.
Authorized administrators can access account, submission, and signup information as needed to operate the board. Hosting, email delivery, analytics, and calendar providers process information needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law or to protect the website, its users, or others.
4. Cookies, Analytics, and Third-Party Services
We use session cookies for sign-in, form security, and other website functions. We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and usage; it may use cookies and collect device, browser, and interaction information. See Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Analytics opt-out tool.
You can manage or refuse cookies through your browser settings, although some features may stop working. The website also links to Google Calendar, Google Maps, event registration providers, social media, and donation services. When you follow those links or add events to your own calendar, the destination service's terms and privacy policy apply.
5. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS, password hashing, restricted administrative access, and form protections. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
We retain information as needed to operate the board, maintain records and backups, handle requests, prevent abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations. Removing an event from the public board does not necessarily delete its internal records, calendar copies, organizer emails, or backups. Copies held by organizers and other services are subject to their own retention practices.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to stop receiving email updates. Depending on your location and applicable law, additional rights may apply. We may need to verify your identity, and some information may need to be retained for security, recordkeeping, or legal reasons. We primarily serve New York and handle requests in accordance with applicable law.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the website or its practices change. The "Last updated" date on this page identifies the latest revision.
